Many great things are being said about Biofuels – where they are depicted as ‘the solution’ to traditional carbon polluting oil. When hearing the word ‘biofuels’ – picturesque images pop up in one’s mind of beautiful corn, soya and sugar cane fields.

It’s plants, it’s green, and generates anywhere between 50 to 90% less carbon dioxide when being used than gasoline – so it must be good, right?

Let us investigate what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ – meaning – ‘how are these biofuels produced’ – to get an idea of the implications of replacing our current oil consumption with new ‘green fuel’.

Corn

- First, the corn is ground and mixed with water
- This mixture gets heated
- Added enzymes convert the starch into sugars
- Then, the mix gets transferred into a fermentation tank
- In the fermentation tank the sugars gradually transform into alcohol
- The alcohol gets separated from the water by a process of distillation
- The leftover which are known as “distillers’ grain” are fed o the cows
- Some of the wastewater being high in nitrogen are applied to fields as fertilizers

This whole process gives off large amount of carbon dioxide. Most ethanol plants (=biofuel) make use of natural gas and coal to create the heat and steam which is necessary for the process of distillation.

The growing of corn also uses up a lot of natural gas and diesel. This is because in the planting and growing process of corn nitrogen fertilizers and farm machineries are used – which run on diesel. Some studies even reveal that the amount of carbon dioxides released during the process of creating ethanol pretty much cancel out the later ‘carbon dioxide reduction’ through replacing oil with ethanol as an energy source.

If this isn’t already bad enough, considering the rising prices of corn crops which give incentive to farmers to expand their production -- there’s as much as 35 million acres of marginal farmland which was actually set aside for soil and wildlife conservation which will be used for corn production for farmers. This may potentially cause an increase in the release of more carbon in fallow fields. Corn is also a highly erosive crop which means a lot of time and energy will have to be placed in rehabilitating the soil.

Furthermore, we are directing food crops towards an energy consuming industry and society while everyday 25 000 people die (of which most are under 5!) of hunger – which is completely unacceptable. In addition, we cannot simply shift our dependence from oil to ethanol as current and future climate changes may very well undermine this type of agricultural activity. The soya story goes much the same way, although is maybe a bit less disastrous.

Sugar Cane

Brazil seems to have had some success in using sugar cane as medium for biofuels.

Unlike corn, sugar cane already contains 20% of sugar in an entire sugarcane stalk, and it already start to ferment the moment it has been cut. Sugar cane fields also yield much higher rates of ethanol per acre compared to corn: 600 – 800 gallons an acre, which is almost twice as much as corn. In general sugar care seems to have much higher and better benefits than corn – though again, it is not without its implications and side-effects.

Most Brazilian cane is cut by hand. Although this type of labour is well paid, the conditions are hot and extremely strenuous to the back. To facilitate the cutting by hand of the cane fields, the fields are mostly burned before harvesting to kill any looming snakes and to make the canes easier to cut. This process fills the air up with soot while releasing methane as well as nitrous dioxide – which are both potent greenhouse gases.

Similarly as with corn, as biofuels will boom and thus the prices as well – this will push farmers to take up more land. This in turn will drive cattlemen deeper into territory such as the Amazon and the ‘cerrado’ (biologically diverse savannahs). So even though all these biofuels are deemed as ‘clean’ and ‘environmental friendly’ – the process behind their creation tells us quite a different story.

Replacing oil with any other ‘alternative energy source’ is always going to end up in a disaster at this point. We simply cannot replace oil with any other fuel at the rate that we are producing and consuming things. The rate at which we are producing, consuming and creating waste, is so disproportionate in relation to the resources available on Earth – that we’re always going to end up with some undesirable consequence that we want to ‘fix’ – but won’t be able to fix. The problem is not the fuel/energy source itself – it’s us humans and our ridiculous obsession with consumption and greed. As long as we do not fix the core problem – which is us – we’re not going to get anywhere (except maybe our own annihilation as a race and the destruction of our home planet).

Times is running out and we must decide NOW, act NOW. We must consider an alternative socio-political and economical system within which we live our lives. We must design and implement a system that is in total balance and equilibrium with planet Earth, nature and all its living beings. The Equal Money System is this new system. It is the only way through which we are going to be able to sort out this mess and ensure a safe and secure future for the children to come.

It’s time to let go of our greed, it’s time to let go of our self-interested obsessions and start considering Life as a whole. You can play a part in this transformation for a better life and future. Investigate Equal Money and let your voice be heard!

Al Husseini, a former head of exploration and production for the state-owned oil company ‘Saudi Aramco’ – made a discovery in the year 2000 through his own research where he concluded that many oil experts “were either misreading the global reserves and oil-production data or obfuscating it”.

Mainstream projections display a steadily rising output of oil which keeps up with global demand – Housseini’s calculations however show a decline in output as early from 2004. In addition, he asserted that this new declining level of production would stay at the same rate for at least 15 years – after which the output of conventional oil would merge into “a gradual but irreversible decline”.

The so called ‘optimistis’ dismiss Housseini’s results and that of other who have come to similar data on the grounds that the Earth still has so much oil yet to be discovered. And where previously a “peak” was predicted in history, new technology surfaced in the oil-field which kept oil output rising.
Nobody really knows ‘how much’ oil the Earth really holds. What we do know is that it is not an infinite reserve which will last us into eternity at the current rate that we are consuming it.
We are not finding oil as easily anymore as all the “elephants” (= very big, easy located oil fields) were discovered decades ago – and what remains of them currently is only a fraction.

The rate at which we are finding new oil fields is declining – and these oil fields are significantly smaller than the old ‘elephants’ everyone was used to. This means that in order to reach the same level of output as before, we have to find x-times more oil fields, which means x-times more oil rigs, which means x-times more expenses = everything gets x-times more expensive. So all we are seeing is decline, decline, decline – yet our consumption is just rising and rising and rising. This is a lethal combination.

Even the most ‘optimistic’ of oil professionals believe that if a peak is not in sight in the very near future – that we will hit peak oil before mid-century – which is honestly also not that far away.

Oil is running out – whether we’re ‘optimists’ or ‘pessimists’ – it’s going to happen, it’s inevitable and 2020 seems to be the year all the data is pointing to.

So we still have time – for now – to change our lifestyle and take a different course will oil production and consumption.

Let’s have a look at all the various products for which oil is needed:

I recently started studying ‘Environmental Economics’, which basically deals with analysing and observing the impact the economy has on the environment and how we can find more effective ways to reduce negative impact for the sake of everyone’s health and the future of our planet and the generations to come.

In the book they started off with explaining how there are two views/stand points within environmental economics – where you have the ‘pessimist view’ and the ‘optimist view’.

Now, what does the pessimist view consist of? It basically says that we ought to get our shit together and start looking at new ways of dealing with production and our energy usage because we’re going to come to a point where our resources are going to run out, if not now then in future generations - and then we’re going to be in big shit.

The ‘positive view’ takes the standing that we shouldn’t worry, and that if we leave everything to the market forces we will automatically adapt to scarcity and that somewhere in the future we will probably have technology to release us from the ‘scarcity of resources’ limitation.

What I find fascinating is how they could have possible named these two perspectives ‘pessimist’ and ‘optimist’. All the so called “pessimists” are stating, is the actual state of affairs that we’re faced with and taking into consideration the practical consequences of our actions. There’s nothing ‘pessimist’ about it – it should have been called the ‘realist’ point of view! It might not be what everyone wants to hear, and it might not be a situation that we want to be in – but that is not the point. It is what it is and just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you should label it as ‘pessimist’. Or maybe it should have been labelled as the ‘optimist view’ as it’s the only view that will lead to a bright future.

And ‘optimist view’? More like ‘La-la-land view’. Basing a theory and perspective on a future that is completely uncertain is stupid and irresponsible. Instead of dealing with the problem it just gets shoved to ‘out there’ in ‘the future’, where market forces, future people and some other technology can deal with it (technology you’re not even sure is going to exist). It’s probably the same line of thinking people were used to a hundred years ago, which make US those future people, it makes US the ones who probably would have ‘invented new technology’ – the time is here, and we don’t have much more to waste!

The labelling of these views is absolutely ridiculous but nicely shows how one wants to ‘dress up’ the situation. Negative energy and vibes are BAD, we must focus on the POSITIVE things in Life!

It’s so easy to call someone a ‘pessimist’ and completely ignore their input, as if it’s just that they’re in a bad mood, they got up on the wrong side of the bed and if they just get a nice night’s rest they’ll be just fine the next day – ready to join the optimists again!

People just don’t seem to see and understand how our ‘positive views’ of valuing ‘liberty’, ‘free choice’ and ‘free will’ - is exactly that which creating the mess on Earth we so dearly want to ignore.

That’s why it is important to study the Desteni material and the Desteni message, so we can wake up and tear this veil of blind optimism away from our eyes – so we can actually see what is going on and thus see what it is that we practically have to do to ensure a bright and secure future for all.

Equal Money – it’s the only way.

Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-19708783047778635072012-01-28T04:28:00.000-08:002012-01-28T04:28:46.207-08:00Our Economic System – Doomed to Face a Crisis from the Start?

Note: all economic terms marked with an asterix* are explained at the end of this blog.

At the heart of economic theory and activity lies the dilemma of human ‘unlimited wants and needs’ and ‘scarcity of resources’. Within this, the economist concludes that decisions require to be made in terms of what resources will be allocated to what unlimited wants and needs.

From this, the supply* and demand* model is derived whereby the price of a good or services ‘decides’ whether one will be able to acquire these goods and services or not. (Whereby demand is defined within the context of having a want or need while having the financial means to back up one’s want/need – i.e. whether you have sufficient the money to purchase the particular good or service you want/need). This way, the economy can limit and control the amount of people who can have access to a particular good or service according to the ‘scarcity’ of what it is they want.

Let me illustrate with a diagram how the ‘forces’ of supply and demand interact with each other, which in turn determines the affordability (which in essence is the same as accessibility) to particular goods and services:

On the vertical Axis we can read the possible prices at which bread can be sold, at $ per unit.

On the horizontal Axis we can read the amount of bread which can be demanded at any particular price.
The red line/curve represents the ‘Supply’, whereby one can distinguish at which price a particular amount of bread will be supplied: At $1.00, the supplier is willing to supply only 1 bread (The self-interest of the supplier lies within the price of a particular product as the supplier wants to be able to reap as much profit from selling a single unit – thus when something is considered to be ‘cheap’, the supplier is not motivated to produce/sell a great quantity of this product/service, as it is considered to be non-profitable, and he could be doing/selling something else which will reap more profit – this is known as ‘opportunity cost*’ within the world of economics), at $2.00, the supplier is willing to supply 2 Breads -- at $3.00, the supplier is willing to provide 3 Breads – and at $4.00, the supplier is willing to supply 4 Breads.
The blue line/curve represents the ‘Demand’, whereby one can distinguish how many breads the consumer will buy at a particular price: When a bread costs $4.00, only 1 bread is demanded (the self-interest of the demander/consumer also lies within the price, but at the opposite pole of the supplier – the consumer wants to be able to get as many possible products/services per unit of money he owns – thus the ‘cheaper’ something is, the more will be demanded (and also the more people who will be able to afford it), and the more ‘expensive’ things get, lesser quantity will be demanded.), at $3.00, 2 breads are demanded – at $2.00, 3 breads are demanded – and at $1.00, 4 breads are demanded.
Where the demand and supply curve meet (the cross in the centre, indicated with the light blue dot) – is what is referred as the ‘equilibrium*’. At this particular price (in this case $2.50) all the goods/services in question will be met with an equal amount of quantity demanded (in this case 2.5 breads) which implies that all the goods will be sold – there is no ‘excess supply*’, there is no ‘shortage in supply*’, there is no ‘excess demand*’ and also no ‘shortage in demand*’). This ‘equilibrium’ point will then be the point to which prices will be set.

From my perspective however, this is an unacceptable model to lead one’s economy by. Using the ‘Demand and Supply’ model – there will always be winners, and thus there will always be losers. There will always be people without access to resources, simply because they don’t have the money to do so. If we go back to the diagram, we indicate it as following:

Anyone with the a financial capacity which is unable to reach $2.50 for 2.5 loaves of bread (indicated by the grey area in the diagram) simply gets ‘eliminated’ and ‘removed’ from the Supply and Demand framework as their want/need now no longer falls within the category of ‘demand’. The system will not provide for these people – and this is how the economy manages and distributes its resources as a solution to everyone’s ‘unlimited wants and needs’ in the face of ‘limited resources’.

You see, the problem lies within the premise itself (people have unlimited wants and needs, but there are only so many available resources – what goes where/who gets what?). The economist immediately jumps to making a plan in alignment with this premise, where the only possible outcome is to satisfy ‘some’ beings their wants and needs, while keeping others from getting the same resources to satisfy their wants and needs -- whilst providing a ‘mathematical system’ to justify why resources are distributed in this particular manner (Supply and Demand).

Instead of just ‘going along’ with the statement and ‘trying to make it work’, they should have looked at the implications of the statement itself, and decide whether this statement in itself is an acceptable basis to build an economic system upon.

If we have a closer look at the statement (here it is again:)

“people have unlimited wants and needs, but there are only so many available resources – what goes where/who gets what?”

we are able to translate this statement into an equation, whereby we are trying to satisfy infinity (<span style="font-family: "Adobe Garamond Pro","serif"; font-size: 18.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">∞) with something which is finite (x) – this in itself is simply impossible. So why even try and make it work if you know that it is never going to be able to. Instead of conjuring up a ‘Supply and Demand’ system to manage this equation which is inherently out of balance, they should have changed the very equation itself before constructing a system of distribution based on something unmanageable.

What they ought to have done, is look at the variable of ‘unlimited wants and needs’ and firstly separate them into two separate components (instead of giving both equal value).
Once we distinguish between wants and needs, we can recognize that needs (unlike wants) are actually quite limited and defined. Needs include things we can name such as: housing, food, clothing, security, – etc. There is a limit to what can be defined as a ‘need’ whereby everything placed under the heading of ‘need’ is directly related to the achievability of a life of sustenance. In essence, the first system of distribution that should have been designed should have pertained to the satisfaction of everyone’s basic needs. Once the needs are sorted out, can one look at designing a system pertaining people’s wants.

Currently the system of Supply and Demand is the embodiment of ‘irresponsibility’ – because it decides to spent precious resources on people’s wants, knowing that this cannot be sustained, knowing that needs are not considered if it is not a ‘demand’.

It is fundamentally a system of discrimination between those who have money and those who have not (or very little). In my next blog I will be going deeper into this discrimination point and on what principles it was found, and how it currently is still being justified.

The first step to prevent corruption would actually be the step to implement an Equal Money System. Corruption currently strives in the system due to extensive abuse, exploitation and separation that has been allowed between those who have and those who have not.

It stems from the fear of not having, of having been abandoned and banished by the system. The accumulation of wealth then moves from being a point of survival to a point of absolute obsession – equal to the absolute artificial ‘lack’ that has been created and allowed within this world. Since corruption and greed sprout from fear for one’s survival, we can safely say that the main motivator for corruption will be eliminated through the establishment of an Equal Money System, as everyone’s basic needs will be taken care of on the basis of Life – and not on the basis of how much money you have in your pocket.

Understandably there will still be beings that will try and attempt to abuse the system as this point of greed and corruption has been sown into the very nature of human beings. This nature will not change overnight, and within this consideration there will be a tight monitoring system in place in terms of how all the information and resources move in order to prevent, identify and intervene in cases of corruption if necessary. Those who have shown to have fallen for the corruption temptation will go through a process of rehabilitation to ensure the correction of one’s mind set and thus future behaviour.

Firstly we have to ask the questions whether hotels as we currently know it will still exist within an Equal Money System. If we investigate the starting point of the existence of hotels currently we can see that the only reason is that of profit maximisation. They are only here for the selected elite and do not take into consideration the whole of humanity.

The first priority within an Equal Money System is to provide everyone with adequate housing – for this, hotels will be perfect. If after everyone has been taken care of in terms of housing and accommodation, we can look at other functions for hotels. If it is the case that after the most prominent points have been taken care of and some hotels still remain, then we can still use them as hotels. The management however of hotels will change completely. It will no longer be an experience where one gets pampered and where other human beings serve you in terms of cleaning, food, etc. The most practical would be to turn it into a structure of self-service where if someone decides to take a room in a hotel for whatever purpose -- that you take full responsibility for this room as if it were your own. In terms of food their might be a possibility of restaurant availability as cooking will definitely be an area of expression that many will wish to explore.

So in a sense the hotels will be run and taken care of by those who intend to make use of it.

1. You defined following: "all money being issued has the nature of a loan with interest". And yes, the banks are the worst factor in all dealings concerning money. This can be controlled although banks should probably die out (at least banks as we know them). The problem is that your definition is not throughly correct. When you print money you have inflation, but not only because interest rates are lower and interest rate is the price of money, but also due to the fact that so called "aggregate prices" go up. By that I mean literally prices of all goods (in general). When the prices are higher you can buy less with the same amount of money. This means that the system should have a very high control (just like a monetery expanisive politic should have). Control is the main problem in today's world. This ALWAYS lead to corruption. What are your ideas and, possibly, strategies on solving this problem?

You are correct, banks and loans are not the only factor in causing inflation – the inflation problem is caused by multiple factors. What these factors do have in common is that they all in some way or another are linked to unbalanced mathematical equations (such as asking interest on a loan and creating money out of nothing). In essence, inflation is mostly a symptom of our current economic and monetary system. Since the Equal Money System will be based and operating on whole new set of principles and thus a whole not set of equations which will actually be balanced – inflation as a symptom will disappear.
Any type of monetary policy is currently only an attempt at postponing the inevitable. The current system is based on an incorrect equation, where the two sided “don’t add up”. All monetary policies are doing now is trying to monitor and manipulate the outflows of this dysfunctional system with new equations – but they can never truly fix it – because the very initial equation the system is based on, is unbalanced and doomed to spiral out into massive disproportion. Inflation should thus cancel itself out in an Equal Money System.

The same can be said about greed – greed is mostly a cause and symptom arising from a dysfunctional, out-of-proportion system. Due to extensive polarity and extremities where society and its peoples are divided between an extreme line of ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’. Greed, having “a lot”, wanting abundance only stems forth from the polarity opposite of massive lack. People want more and will accept bribes because there is no security within our current system. If you don’t play by the rules or you are simply ‘unlucky’ – the system will simply disregard you and you will be left with nothing. It’s this constant insecurity, not knowing what will happen, knowing that any time you can be left with nothing, knowing that there are so many people who already have nothing – that drives people to want more to satiate and drench their inner fear and anxiety. The current system is the creator and supporter of Greed through not providing an actual platform of support for Human Beings, where living Life is self-evident and where each one receives the tools and resources to do so.
Obviously greed will not disappear overnight and will still stick up its head from time to time – but it should be nowhere near as problematic as it is currently, and will be dealt with in terms of re-education of those who participate within it.

2. You declare that people will do jobs when they find out they are necessary. But how would you deal with jobs that nobody want to do, except for money. Like dealing with waste (garbage)?

As you can read on the home page under the FAQ, jobs which are absolutely vital to human survival and support will be placed within the 4 year conscription. Basically after one is done with their primary stage of education, each will participate for a duration of 4 years within a labour program which tends to all the jobs and tasks that need to be done to keep the basics of society running. This is an educational period where one learns about the know-hows of what is involved in terms of keeping humans sustained (which a lot of people take for granted at the moment); as well a first experience and introduction to the labour side of the Equal Money System. Just like any other job someone would take on, one will receive remuneration for the job done. The conscription point is simply a point of equality – everyone has certain basic needs that need to be taken cared of, everyone can contribute to this equally.

Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-63051978669762325032011-10-15T12:15:00.000-07:002011-10-15T12:15:56.488-07:00It’s Free!

The other day one of the comments I got on one of my videos went as following:

“Go educate yourself on KhanAcademy’s YouTube Channel, it won’t cost you a penny!”

And immediately as I read the comment, it struck me that there is actually not a single thing in existence which is “for free” – you or another will always pay in one way or another.

Let’s have a look at the statement this person made on my video, and what conditions would have to be present for me to “go and educate myself” on someone’s Youtube Channel.

Firstly, for me to go on this channel and ‘educate myself’, I would require to have internet.
In this world internet is not for free. So I would either be in a scenario where I have a home and within this home I have internet installed and I pay a monthly fee to be able to use this internet – or any other way that one can have internet at home. But, this implies that I have a home! A home with electricity for me to be able to run my computer or charge my laptop so that I would be able to run an internet browser – or I could have a cell phone with internet which still requires electricity and credit for me to access the internet.

So now we have already established that there is money involved in 1) Internet itself, 2) the pc, laptop or whatever device is used to run internet, 3) electricity to feed the device (and then there’s also rent\payment for house and a whole bunch of other things involved).

Now, let’s take worse case scenario and I don’t have a home - I am homeless - and the only way I can have access to internet is by going to a library or internetcafe which again requires money.

Now, considering that I am homeless and have nothing better to do than going to an internetcafe \ library would imply that I have a job and money – because if I did not have a job and no money I would not be wasting my time at an internetcafe \ library because I have more important things to do like keeping myself alive. And even if for instance the internet access at the library would be for free, you still require money, although indirectly, for you to be able to breathe, piss, shit (and where piss would imply having drunk something for you to be able to generate pee and for you to have eaten something for you to be able to generate poop which all need money).

So what is the bottomline: anything in this world costs money. Simply being alive costs money.
“Living” \ “Being Alive” and you being able to live your life is not something that is self-evident. Living, breathing is not a right but only a privilege to those who have money.

Does that mean…. YES! It means that our very economic and monetary system is in direct violation of Human Rights – and no-one sees it or does anything about it because we have become so conditioned to accept the world as it is.

Stop the violation - investigate Equal Money
Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-60892364395596901502011-10-12T11:45:00.000-07:002011-10-12T11:45:51.500-07:00The Need to Cheat
Throughout my research on the Monetary System and studying economy, I’ve observed a fascinating pattern that humans seem to not be able to stay away from, which is: The Need to Cheat.

Whenever a system is working fine and everything is operational, there is always someone, someone who wants to deviate from the system and the rules of the game to make things ‘go faster’, ‘better’ and ‘for him only’. Like for instance the goldsmith who realised no one ever comes and claims all their gold at the same time and then invented the beginning of fractional reserve banking. Then, by the time everyone realises what happens, the whole system has become dependent on this ‘cheat’ to make things ‘better’ – and ends up legalizing it and even make it a custom.

Throughout my economy textbook there’s been so many moments where I go “they did it again!” where someone wants to make things go faster and wants to make more money and “cheats” the system. The thing with these ‘cheats’ is that they always only work for one person or one party only, while creating a polarity situation for the rest where they are off more miserably than before.

All these little ‘cheats’ then accumulate within the system, and overtime you have a giant monster of a system that is actually completely dysfunctional in nature due to all these cheats that have been implemented and accumulated. But obviously those in power do not want to put an end to this unsustainable and dysfunctional system that is bound to just explode into a million pieces, because they are the ones benefitting, they are the cheaters.
From the very first moment someone started with the first cheat, the whole system was bound to doom, because there was no more equality, no more balance within the equation. Instead it’s just a giant monster machine with a black hole in the centre that just sucks everything up into nothingness.

(What’s even more disgusting is that so many Western elitists currently and throughout histoy really get off on being able to cheat and “outsmart” everyone with their clever way of doing things and making money – as if this makes them someone better and superior than everyone else, while all they are doing is just showing what lowlifes they are with no sense of integrity or respect for anyone else.)

What does this imply? It implies that the end of the system was already placed a long time ago, and that no matter what happens, our current monetary system will end – there’s just no fixing it.
The only “choice” that we have in the matter is where we will take up our destiny in our own hands and stop this monster – or wait for the monster to finish us first before we come to the point of “enough” and think about implementing a change.

(It also means we gotta stop cheating in the name of our selfishness and greed and start acting from the principle of What is Best for All – anything else will just be another road to digging our own grave)

Don’t wait, be the change – EqualMoney.org
Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-13235576749862468582011-08-31T09:35:00.005-07:002011-08-31T09:35:40.770-07:00The Beauty Industry – Where does all the HAIR come from?
In India it is a custom to make an offer to the gods. The pilgrims are settling a debt incurred by the god Vishnu. Those who do not have money, offer what ever else they have = their hair. The shaving happens in ‘Sacred’ Temples – which once a year have an auction. All corporations can put in a bid in an envelope – and whoever offered the highest amount gets all the hair!

This hair then gets shipped down to rich countries so that the elite can flaunt their ‘great hair’.
So who are they actually offering their hair to? The “gods”? Nope – MONEY.

And these are poor people, poor people shaving off their hair to please the gods so that maybe, maybe the gods will hear their prayer and make their life better. And then the Temple just fucking sells the hair for money. I mean, can’t you at least sell it for money and give all those people who shaved their hair a share of the money. No No – they sell the hair to the highest bidder (Temple makes money), the business processes the hair and sells it to hairsalons (Business makes even more money) and then the hair salons sell it to their clients for up to 3000! (They make the biggest money).

I mean that’s just so fucked up.

One of the main points that makes people 'back off' from hearing and being interested in an Equal Money System is the concept of scarcity. For some reason people think that because we speak of Equal Money that we hold the illusion that our resources are not limited/scarce.

What is actually happening in people's minds is that they've made an incorrect connection between scarcity and limitation. This connection has been quite cleverly placed by the way economists and the media write about resources. They will deliberately use the term 'scarce resources' and 'limited resources' interchangeably as if they mean the exact same thing – while they don’t – imprinting a false image of world affairs.

‘Scarce resources’ has got a connotation of there being a ‘shortage’ of a particular resource.

‘Limited resource’ simply means that the resources are not infinite.

The catch here is that now people immediately assume that because something is limited, that it therefore necessarily is scarce and that there is a ‘lack’ involved. This is however an incorrect presupposition as something that is ‘limited’ does not necessarily imply a shortage – something can be limited but still be ‘enough’ or be present in abundance.

This is how the current Capitalistic System is being justified, where inequality is simply ‘inevitable’ due to our “scarce resources”.

However, if we have a look around, we can observe a world of decadence where things such as golden toilet seats, diamond padded vacuum cleaners, decadent houses, cars – etc. exist. And another world where a few billion people are living in a chronic state of poverty and starvation.

Walk into any mall or shopping centre and see how many totally completely useless products get produced in the name of profit and capitalism. If we live in a world where resources are scarce – is it not simply irresponsible to spend our majority of resource on these products which are not necessary for our subsistence, but only here for our entertainment?

It should be rather obvious that you cannot come up with solutions such as ‘bailing a county out’ in an already inherently, dysfunctional system.
Our Monetary System is a machine with sharp edged blades, cutting each and everyone that comes into contact with it. It destroys rather than support. So instead of putting a plaster on the gaping wounds (as that is what this bailout is) we should rather look at the origin point that is causing the problems in the first case – which is the starting point of everything = Our Current Economic System.
So yes, bailing out Greece was never going to work, it was merely an attempt to postpone the inevitable. In our System, there will always be the sucker, the loser – there has to be, otherwise there can be no Winners. And more will come, and more will suffer....unless we stop.
I mean – how many more of these scenarios do we have to go through we before we get it?
How many more people must suffer by our greed and stubbornness?
This world is not a nice place to live in, but we have all the means and technology available to make it paradise! Wouldn’t it be great if each and every single person would experience the suffering of humanity, the animal and plant kingdom collectively? That way everyone would sure get their asses up and running to make a change until there is NO ONE SUFFERING.
Unfortunately, everyone lives in their own little bubble only minding and caring about their own lives. Maybe that is why Mother Earth has been shaking lately – trying the shake us and wake us the hell up!
What's interesting is that South Africa was never colonized from a perspective of 'expanding' some countries empire from a territorial perspective. In the 1650's the Dutch were into trading with the East with their Vereenigd Oost-Indische Compagnie. The VOC (the company) was only interested in maximising profit like any other business, and it seemed like a good idea to them to set up a refreshment station at the Cape since it was located midway their trading route. So the only reason and intention they had when setting foot in SA were the principles of Capitalism.

From there it just kind of spiraled out, and tada SA was born. So there's really no point to 'blame' anyone for having "invaded" South Africa, because the only thing that happened was that people were following the mechanics and logic of Capitalism, which is exactly what everyone is still doing in South Africa. They're now just invading other people their lives instead of huge territories and keep them enslaved through a system of debt.
Nothing has ever changed, we are still playing out the exact same capitalistic imperial game. Now we do not longer physically 'invade' countries, no, no need for that. We simply use some sneaky economic tricks and get a silent war on.

We can only stop this silent war with an Equal Money System -- the only system that will break the gap between the poor and the rich and allow for everyone's needs be taken care of.

When hearing about the Somalia being stricken by famine, I immediately had to think of Ethiopia’s history with famine.

Whenever something disastrous happens, whether it is a political crisis in Libya or a famine in Somalia --- I’ve learnt to ask myself: ”Who is benefiting from this situation?” – from there, all you got to do is follow the money…

First thing I did was check out what natural resource lie in Somalia, is this is usually the number one trigger for economic disruption. No surprise, Somalia has an abundance of natural resource. These resources have mostly been left untouched since half of the Somali population live a nomadic lifestyle. The usually way the fat cats go about getting what they want, is by creating a problem and them coming around has the hero’s with the solution. In economic terms, this would mean that one would destabilize a stable economy and bring a whole nation into a debt that cannot possibly be repaid. When the shit hits the fan, those who are “expecting” their money back – will go and demand that which they wanted in the first place: natural resources (= oil).

Currently the media is creating the impression as if Somalia’s famine is the cause of a drought. But when Somalia was pretty much self-sufficient – the droughts had no effect to their stability. So what changed?

The IMF came into the game, and imposed its infamous “structural adjustment” unto the nation. This “structural adjustment” means basically that if a country wants to be in the international game and get funding from the IMF, they must restrict their governmental influence and allow the private sector to take over (enforcing capitalism). The imposition of a free-market system will then disrupt a stable economy as people are no longer being supported by the government and are left at the mercy of the private corporations (if there are any at all to step in to replace what the government used to do – if there is no private sector, then the people are simply at a complete loss and left with no support whatsoever).

The economy destabilises as local farmers get no more support of the government. They can no longer afford to produce and the entire nation becomes depended on importing grains from overseas. Everyone just gets poorer, the US starts bombing the place with food-aid (created from surplus food produced in US), no-one wants to buy locally produced food because food-aid’s for free and thus the local economy keeps slopping down. The IMF and World Bank start throwing around more restrictions and other countries stop importing from Somalia - and voilà = you’ve got yourself an entire country at the feet and mercy of the wealthy capitalist.

This is downright criminal – yet a logical and justified thing to do within the world of Capitalism.

It is time to wake up and see this madness for what it is … MADNESS!!!!!

Investigate the EMS (Equal Money System) and end this atrocity.

Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-67360133954990347262011-07-24T13:42:00.000-07:002011-07-24T13:42:55.290-07:00Starter Kit to Kill your Parrot
And the animal industry keeps being full of surprises.

The other day at the petstore I saw they had a new product, a starter kit for parrots!

Me and Gian had a look at the kit and could see that all things inside the package were actually the very things that are a "No go" for parrots, So later when we were back home I told Bernard about it, he commented that it made sense from a capitalistic perspective -- since the ultimate goal of any business is to maximize profit, the business benefits if its product breaks early (or die in this case) so that the same product can be resold over and over again!

While some parrots can live up to 80 years in captivity, most of them die within 5 years of purchase.

In essence they are doing the same type of sabotaging as with any other type of technology that has a limited warranty. And all of this is seen as 'logic' and 'justified' just because we've been so conditioned to the ways of capitalism.

It's time to wake up from this circus - www.equalmoney.org
Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-35088404152375599172011-07-20T12:28:00.000-07:002011-07-20T12:28:01.868-07:00Capitalism – A Deadly Disease

When I was young I always wondered why our current economic system was called ‘Capitalism”. From the vocabulary I had back then, I thought it had to do something with “the economy of cutting off heads” [from decapitating and ‘capital city’ which in Dutch would be translated as ‘Head City’]. This first impression of the word has never really left me – and 10 years later I find that I was not far away from the truth.

Capitalism is the economy of “cutting of heads”. It is an economic system that harvests the capital of humans – money – that which keeps them alive, and by cutting and chipping at their capital, it is like you are severing their roots with the earth, with life and leave them to die.
Capitalism is an aggressive and intrusive system. We do not need to gage ourselves in war for territory to expand empires. We use economy, we use debt to enslave everyone around us. It’s just a more sneaky and silent way. We all bought into to biggest scam in History – where we believe that Capitalism is that which raises our living standards and allows us to enjoy the luxuries in life. These ‘luxuries’ and ‘raised living standards’ are nothing but bribes to keep engaged in the current system and allow it to become our very lifestyle. It’s time to stop this corruption. While we pick the fruits of Capitalism the other half of our brothers and sisters of the human race are dying. We are putting them in that position, we are the ones keeping them in that spot.
Unless we change and take up the courage to implement change in our lives – innocent beings will keep on dying at the hands of our greed and cowardliness.

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">When the Government of a country ‘declares War on Drugs’ it will try and prevent the production and especially import of Drugs within the borders of its country.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">How does this practically affect the ‘free market forces’ in the economic system?
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Prices are set in relation to supply / demand. If there is a high demand for a particular product or service, the people that are ‘demanding’ this, will ‘compete’ with each other in the form of accepting higher price rates. The ‘value’ of any given product/service will also be dependent on the availability of the particular good.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
So – if we look at the scenario before War was declared on drugs, you’d have a particular stream of supply coming into the country and according to the demand it will be set on a price accordingly.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Because the demand for drugs is high, and the fact that drugs is a ‘habit forming’ product – the demand for drugs is very inelastic (inelastic = there will not be a big change in demand if one changes the price of the product, elastic would be if you for instance increase the price of a product and it has a drastic effect on the demand of the product - this is not the case with drugs which means that they can pretty much ask any price and the consumer will try and pay that price).

So now the Government has declared War on Drugs and ‘less’ drugs comes into the country. This implies that the supply has diminished which means that the product is now more ‘scarce’ while the demand remains exactly the same.

This ‘supply shortage’ in turn translates into a ‘higher value’ of the product and the Prices go sky high. But now the demand is still exactly the same. But if one now wants to get hands on drugs, they have to come up with more money which results in more crime!
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So nothing has been solved at all, at best things have just gotten worse because they exact same condition is still present but now there’s extra crime happening to be able to pay up for the drugs.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The truth is that there is no possible solution within our current economic system to truly effectively deal with a problem such as Drug Abuse & Profiteering. Because ‘Profiteering’ is what our current Economic System is all about and it implies that for someone to win there must be someone losing. In essence you could say that our System Promotes Drug Abuse & Profiteering because it uses the exact methods that defines our System.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So if you have a look at Drugs there are two main points that come to the fore in terms of consideration. The first one is on the side of the consumer and pertains to the reason of Drug Consumption. The other point lies on the side of the supplier whom is obviously in the Game because of Profit.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If we look at reasons why people use drugs we can boil it down to a general ‘dissatisfaction’ with their life. Whether it is boredom, depression, wanting to have ‘fun’ (indicating a lack of fun and adventure) – it is always some sort of dissatisfaction or lack. So if we want to ‘tackle’ the demand, we have to take on this reason, this dissatisfaction. The most effective proposal to deal with such a point would be an Education Process such as the Desteni I Process. The Desteni I Process deals with one’s inner reality and pushes for the taking of self-responsibility and living a fulfilling life.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This would very effectively deal with Drug Addiction as has already been proven by many who have walked the Desteni I Process. A list of reference is given at the end of this post. Check out their blogs to see how they deal with their reality and work towards a fulfilling, self-empowering and satisfactory life for themselves.

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If we now look at the other side of the coin where we are dealing with making money – the only effective Solution is the immediate implementation of an Equal Money System. Why? Because our Current Money System does not provide for all Equally. It is a System out of Balance that provides for the few who have in abundance and ensures that this abundance only grows for which the majority who do not have “pay the price”.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Those who do not have live a miserable life while the rich live on their expense. This gives those who are in an unfortunate position an incentive to either a) become drug consumers to numb the pain of their existence or to b) to use drugs as a product to sell so they can get money to survive within this world. This need then turns into Greed as the fear of ending up in a position with no support it just to horrid to even think of.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">An Equal Money System in contrast, is a System of care and everyone’s physical needs are taken care of. There is no condition of survival prevailing where people find the need to exploit others in order to survive. In addition the profit motive is taken away as Profit will not be non-existent within an Equal Money System which eliminates the enticement to start a drug business. There is no need to turn to drugs to numb you life experience as you are supported to LIVE and explore life instead. Thus – the Equal Money System dealing with one’s external reality, deals with the Money point whilst the DIP deals with one’s inner reality and self-empowerment. Together they are the perfect team =).
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

Profit and Self-Interest is that which lies at the very core of our Current Economic System.
It is the very baseline of any equation from which economical mechanisms are derived from.
It is the venom that seeps through every inch of our society of which no-one remains unaffected.

It’s a venom that kills.

*Beep* * Beep* uuuugh..................

Our Economy falls back on two basic ‘powers’ / ‘laws’ interacting with each other:

1. I want to sell stuff expensive so I can get lots of money
2. I want to buy stuff cheap cause I want to have lots of money

(These two are the trademark of Capitalism and Free Market)

But now – just looking at these two points together, it is obvious that you cannot have both happening at the same time. For example: You want cheap milk, but they only want to sell you expensive milk – both parties want to score.
So even though this is not practically possible – these are the rules the Economy lives by.

Now, these two essentially self-interested laws, make up ‘Supply’ and ‘Demand’ (first one being supply [giving], second one demand [receiving]).

And even though these ‘laws’ have no practical consideration whatsoever - but the one for profit – it is accepted and enforced as status quo.

So we have established that both two ‘laws’ are drenched in self-interest - and ‘combat’ each other. But the combat between these forces creates a ‘vacuum’ – as both of these points are just eating up all the money – and these vacuums are then represented by manifestations such as poverty and scarcity.

Now – people start complaining and when the moaning starts getting to the Government they feel that maybe they should do something about it.

The Government will then implement some rules to try and create some sort of balance so that the poor people don’t get too angry and get it in their heads to maybe revolt against the government.

These rules can take the form of for instance protecting moaning Farmers by setting a particular minimum price for their goods. This minimum price will be above the ‘equilibrium price’ [*the equilibrium price is where supply perfectly meets demand, there’s no excess or shortage. For example, a farmer supplies 50 000 litres of milk at the local town market – at a particular price – and at this price all of his milk is bought. There is no excess but also no shortage of milk. ]

By setting a minimum price that is above the equilibrium price (at the price that people are willing to pay) - an excess supply is created because people don’t want to buy the expensive stuff!

So if the Farmer now for instance sells his milk at 3 euros a litre - less milk is going to be bought, and there’s going to be many litres left unsold.

So the higher the price – the less people will buy it (can buy it) which means = less people have food. So now okay, the farmers get some extra cash but now we’ve created a new problem as more people are without food. On top of that, we’re still sitting with all this excess of supply (the unsold milk) that’s just lying around, and now the Government’s got to get rid of it. If they give the food to the poor people then they’re not gonna buy the food on the market and then the farmer’s not going to get their money and then the whole minimum price thing was useless from the beginning. And obviously the Governments Ego cannot admit to that, so then they rather buy the food with TAX MONEY (yes that’s right, they take your money so now you’re still losing) and then destroy the excess supply.

I mean – if you look at it – it’s really pretty freaking insane right? I mean, twenty first century? Evolution? LMAO

Then there is minimum wages / basic income!

The people’s gone moaning again and the government feels it should respond to this threat (yes threat instead of common sense responsibility – in our world literally EVERYTHING is in reverse).

So now the government goes ‘Let us implement minimum wages/basic income!’ – because they see that people are complaining because they are looking rather skinny and beaten up by their slave labour.

Because remember: BUY CHEAP – SELL EXPENSIVE. This translates into PAY PEOPLE CHEAP (buying labour) – SELL THE STUFF THEY MAKE EXPENSIVE – KEEP MONEY IN MY BIG FAT POCKETS. That’s how we’ve designed our system.

Back to the Government – so now they implement ‘minimum wages’ – which is really the same principle as setting a minimum price for the farmers. Corporations do not want to buy expensive labour [it is seen as ‘expensive’ because this minimum wage is above the ‘equilibrium wage’ where supply & demand meet (because people will do anything to gain some money to survive, so they are willing to work for almost nothing)]. So Corporations have to now implement this minimum wage – but they don’t want to spend that amount of money.
As a result they start firing and cutting back on their staff. Which results in more people being unemployed – but heeeey at least those few people who have a job get a minimum wage, right? Yay? No?

So the very people the government is “trying to help” are the ones that end up being off worse. As you have seen from the examples, you either end up without food and/or without a job. And the knowledge that these type of interventions are absolutely not effective – is Economy 101, it is one of the first things you learn in studying economy, imagine what else we might encounter down the road!!

And then obviously if one tries to look at other ‘solutions’ = there are none. Each move you will do that approaches ‘care’ will be catastrophically as what the System breathes in and out is Self-Interest. It is repulsed by ‘care’ and will simply spit out anything that is not serving Profit & Self-Interest. Thus there are no possible solutions within our current system. As long as we want to create / provide solutions within the current framework of our Economic System = it is going to fail.

Because as the very Starting Point of our System is that of Self-Interest – it will only cherish and harvest that singular point. There is simply no space for anything else. It is a Formula, an Equation which is not Equal [and for an equation to be effective there must be EQUAlity, you know EQUA-TION it is implied in the word]. So no matter what you place into the formula – it will always end up in disaster as that is the way it’s been designed.

So understand that when you read or hear things in relation to Equal Money Solutions – that we are talking about a whole new system, a whole new formula – it is beyond our current system, it’s a whole new world! Because, we cannot save our current system, it is done for.

So if you can see , just like me the absolute fucked-up-ness of our current Monetary and Economic System – Investigate Equal Money! It is the only solution !!!

Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-63981612092736136412011-04-14T13:06:00.000-07:002011-04-14T13:06:34.128-07:00I am One Vote for an Equal Money System!

Within this Blog I will be addressing issues with regards to our Current Economic System and provide Solutions within the context of an Equal Money System.
Many of these cows were treated with a painkiller/anti-inflammatory drug Diclofenac.

They die – the drug stays in their system – the vultures eat the corpse – the vultures get it in their system...and die of kidney failure. The drug has been banned – but it may still take years before all the ones that were already in circulation get out. Will the remaining 1% hold?
How has such a fuck-up come about? The only way this type of side-effect and inconsideration can come about is when the animal their best interest is not taken into account.
Because – this veterinary drug is supposed to 'help animals' as in treating livestock – no-one took into consideration the possible outcome if any of these carcasses get eaten.Which inherently shows that the drug was not manufactured taking into consideration 'the animals' – but only the depth of the Humans their pockets.
In an Equal Money System – this would not happen. We would not only start taking into considerations the animals as a whole once they're all almost dead.
Vote for an Equal Money System – Vote for a System of Consideration of All Life

www.equalmoney.org

Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-49611656692520116492011-04-01T05:50:00.000-07:002011-04-15T12:56:26.662-07:00The Birds are Dying

With climate changes the birds are put in a vulnerable position. With the estimate projections and estimations of coming climate changes, some bird species are expected to decrease drastically, and in some cases even go completely extinct.

Birds are tied to particular environments for their food intake and breeding process. With climate changes, birds that were used to low lands are forced to move to higher grounds, where it is a bit fresher – to get back to a temperature that they are used to. Though, not all birds are flexible to adapt to new environments with different vegetation/foods available for them – and thus will be likely to die. Another implication of this 'moving to higher grounds'; is that less and less terrain becomes available for the birds. This is just simply geometrics. So as climate keeps on changing, the birds will be forced to move higher and higher – until there is nowhere else to go.
This terrain reduction also decreases birds their survival chances.

When the birds get to the point of breeding, they are ineffective. The little amount of birds that do hatch, are likely to get eaten by the parents to be able to survive.

The consequences of what we've accepted and allowed to manifest in this world are starting to creep out and show its head.
We always thought that'd we'd never have to face the consequences – but they are now knocking on the door. Centuries of abuse is now taking its toll and we can no longer accept and allow to postpone taking responsibility. The birds are already suffering. The least we can do is make food available for them where we can – and stop the current system of madness that is killing each and every single living thing on earth.

It is not too late – Let's Vote for an Equal Money System!

Leila Zamora Morenohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00428852564054221982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-740534971780885682.post-9623834866873572172011-03-19T10:07:00.000-07:002011-04-15T12:56:26.668-07:00Man Arrested For Selling Wife’s Body Parts

The Article:
Tanzanian police have arrested a man for allegedly trying to sell his wife’s body parts to an undercover police officer.

Authorities say he confessed Friday to killing his wife and attempting to sell her head, breast and genitals because he learned of a demand for body parts in the Shinynga area.

Police were tipped off by bank guards who spotted the man with a plastic bag that he said contained pork.

They say the suspect will undergo an psychiatric exam before his trial.

How much more clearer can it get?
